InsulShield™ temperature control boxes are recyclable.

Are you here because you love a silver lining? We have one for you. With just a little effort, your box and any silver-lined inserts are curbside recyclable. Follow these simple steps and feel good about doing your part to keep our environment healthy and happy.

How To Recycle This Box

1. Empty your box of its content

2. Open the bottom flaps

3. Rip or safely cut open the box along a corner or seam

4. Lay the box flat with the silver lining facing up

5. Peel the silver lining off and discard*

6. Recycle the box as usual**

*Pro tip: For easy peeling, start at any edge and tear a notch downward. The silver lining will separate from the board. You can then slowly peel the silver sheet away.

**It is acceptable for a small amount (10% or less) of silver lining to stay adhered and should not affect recyclability.

Recycling - How important is it?

A stack of boxes to be recycled

We’ve been taught about recycling for decades now, but how impactful is it? That question isn’t as straightforward as it sounds. Different materials have different recycling and recovery rates.

Most insulating containers are not easily recycled. For many years, plastic and styrofoam solutions have been used to keep products at their optimal temperature during transit. That's why it's important to support companies who have found innovative ways to ship their products in sustainable packaging that is renewable and curbside recyclable.

In 2020, cardboard packaging had a recovery rate of 88.8% according to American Forest and Paper Association. That means that nearly 90% of the boxes that were manufactured and sent out to stores and people like you were reclaimed and put back into a circular system of reuse. Did you know that you can reuse the fibers that make up a box 7-8 times? That makes for a stable and sustainable system of fresh and recycled materials.
