Mark E. Lewis

Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, WestRock Land and Development

Mr. Lewis is Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of WestRock Land and Development. In his role, Mr. Lewis focuses on strategic planning to maximize the value of the company’s real estate holdings. His responsibilities include financial and managerial reporting, financial analysis and pro forma development, and operations and information systems support. Since joining in 2008, Mr. Lewis has reorganized WestRock’s land holdings into WestRock Land and Development, LLC, providing stand-alone entity capability, supported by new information systems and supporting staff.

Mr. Lewis brings more than 30 years of experience on the financial side of real estate investment and development, including land acquisition and the development of residential, commercial, office, retail, and hospitality projects. His past work includes serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer with the Paramount Group in New York where he negotiated and closed approximately $3 billion in financings and nearly $4 billion in acquisitions and dispositions. Mr. Lewis began his career with Arthur Andersen as an Audit Manager in the real estate and banking industries and most recently served as Chief Operating Officer for Cortland Partners in Atlanta, Georgia.

John R. Grab

Vice President, Real Estate Development, Nexton

Mr. Grab is Vice President of Community Development and Land Management. In this role, he is primarily responsible for the development of Nexton, a 4,500 acre master-planned community located in Berkeley County, South Carolina. This community is planned for more than 10,000 homes and over 8 million square feet of commercial property. Nexton will be a 21st century community with state of the art technology, sustainable practices, smart living, and an environmentally sensitive approach to development.

Mr. Grab has more than 30 years of experience in real estate development, specializing in large master planned communities. For most of the 1990’s, he worked for the Arvida Company as the project general manager at Weston, a 10,000 acre award-winning community located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This development grew into the nation’s second best-selling community with annual sales that exceeded 1,700 homes. He was Arvida’s division president for the Mid-Atlantic region in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. His responsibilities included all the development activities in Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh, and Charleston. His operations in Charlotte were recognized by JD Power & Associates for their consistently high customer satisfaction ratings. Mr. Grab was also the chief officer - Resort Operations for Burroughs & Chapin Company, a Myrtle Beach based developer, where he oversaw the development of the 2,000 acre award-winning Grande Dunes resort community.

James H. Hill

Vice President, WestRock Land and Development

Mr. Hill is responsible for the company’s commercial and industrial development programs and recreational land sales in East Edisto's Rural District. In this assignment, he is tasked with developing and marketing commercial properties, industrial sites, working with joint venture partners in the commercial and industrial sectors, and overseeing the enhancement and sale of the 500,000 acre rural land sales program.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Hill was a Vice President of the MWV Forestry Division, responsible for land acquisition, marketing and sale of all company-owned land. His responsibilities also included oversight of the company’s mineral management program. Since the merger of Mead and Westvaco, he has managed the sale of approximately 2.5 million acres of non-strategic lands for the company.

Mr. Hill served as President of Westvaco Development Corporation prior to the merger of Westvaco and Mead Corporations. In this assignment, he was involved with completing the development of two award-winning master planned communities in the Charleston area.
