WestRock Creates Spirits Packaging Masterpeices For Elite Bacardi Brands
Facundo Paraíso XA Rum Collection
When Bacardi came to WestRock with structural design problems for their Facundo Paraíso XA Rum collection, we had a solution and delivered above and beyond what was expected. WestRock partnered with Bacardi’s marketing team to work on creating a fundamentally sound premium package.
Bacardi previously used a wooden box that would break and fall apart at the counter. They quickly needed a secure, efficient package created and delivered in time for the holiday season. Our team developed and produced a marvelous secondary package for Facundo Paraíso XA Rum, a $250 bottle of rum made from an undisclosed blend that has been aged for at least 23 years in French XO cognac barrels at Chateau de Cognac.
The outer rigid box stands at about 14 inches, is entirely wrapped in premium quality brown leather, and features shiny, Egyptian Gold foil stampings and embossings. A glass bottle is securely nestled inside and locked into place by the custom-made platform that is designed with Red Velvet, Prestige material. The outer shipper boxes are created with poly-bagged material to add another level of economical security for the bottled product.
The limited supply of 4,000 collection boxes are hand numbered and include a glass decanter bearing the family seal of Facundo L. Bacardi.
D’ussé XO Collection
WestRock also worked with Barcardi in extending their D’ussé Collection to an upscale cognac label. Our design team and partners immediately began work on producing a premium secondary package that would reinvent D’ussé as an elite cognac and create a dynamic shelf appearance. The outer rigid box stands at about 14 inches, is entirely wrapped in black fabric from FiberMark and features a tipped-on shiny, platinum sword on the lid of the two-piece case. A glass bottle is securely nestled inside and locked into place by the custom-made platform that is designed with black Prestige material. WestRock also created the outer shipper box.
Heavily endorsed by hip-hop artist Jay-Z, Bacardi is sure D’ussé XO will experience the same rapid growth and success that O.G. D’ussé, their 4 ½ year aged cognac, has had for the last 2 years. Article originally appeared on PackageDesignMag.com.
